Wallawisa Actions

Since 2016, Wallawisa has carried out and documented actions related to biodiversity protection, support for communities, animal welfare, environmental education, and the preservation of cultural diversity.

Oil Spill — Ventanilla, 2022

Wallawisa was present during one of the worst environmental disasters recorded on the Peruvian coast, accompanying affected artisanal fishers and documenting the impact of the spill on the marine ecosystem and on the communities that depend on the sea.

Our presence was recorded in an official report by environmental oversight entities of the Peruvian State. This action forms part of Wallawisa’s institutional memory and reaffirms our commitment to biodiversity, environmental justice, and the dignity of affected communities.

Cooperation and Partnerships in the Field

Throughout its journey, Wallawisa has worked alongside and cooperated with organizations, foundations, groups, and volunteers in different emergency situations, joining efforts to protect life, biodiversity, and affected communities.

 

CECONSEC — Selva Central, Peru, 1995–1996

Our archive preserves the Honor Agreement signed, before the founding of Wallawisa, by its founder and the president of CECONSEC. The agreement provided for advising and representing 90 Indigenous communities and promoting development, education, health, and the protection of the Asháninka people’s natural resources.
