Background
Before the founding of Wallawisa, its founder had already established ties with various Indigenous peoples of the Andean and Amazonian regions.
Among the documented records is an agreement signed in 1996 with the Central de Comunidades Nativas de la Selva Central Asháninkas (CECONSEC), an organization that at the time represented 90 Indigenous communities and was chaired by Marcos Sánchez Cusi, an Asháninka leader and a close friend of Wallawisa’s founder.
The agreement was aimed at promoting development initiatives, protecting natural resources, and supporting Asháninka communities.
The document states that this relationship had already been developing since 1995.

Wallawisa Actions
Since 2016, Wallawisa has carried out and documented actions related to biodiversity protection, support for communities, animal welfare, environmental education, and the preservation of cultural diversity.
Oil Spill — Ventanilla, 2022
Wallawisa was present alongside artisanal fishermen during the environmental emergency, documenting the impact of the oil spill on the ecosystem and affected communities.
Our presence was recorded in an official report issued by Peru’s environmental oversight authorities.
Asháninka People — Lower Urubamba, Ucayali
Wallawisa maintained a cooperative relationship with the Federación Asháninka Bajo Urubamba (FABU), supporting initiatives related to education, technology, children’s development, and environmental commitment.
In 2023, FABU formally expressed its recognition of this collaboration and of the work carried out in support of the Asháninka communities of the Lower Urubamba.
